About

GAMAE Native Carib/Garifuna Language Digital Classroom is a Pilot Program of Belize born Garifuna, Eleanor Castillo Bullock who is seeking to connect with Caribs or Garifuna people all around the globe. We are particularly seeking the Caribs of the Caribbean Island of Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.

We are also seeking to connect with Caribs or Garifuna people of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and Belize.

The goal here is to connect ALL Caribs or Garifuna people in an effort to Promote, Protect and Preserve our Carib and Garifuna History, Heritage, Spirituality, and particularly our Carib and Garifuna Culture and Language which has been declared endangered and facing extinction.

LET'S BE CHANGE AGENTS AND BRING OUR CARIB - GARIFUNA LANGUAGE BACK!!!!

“Our Garifuna language is the cornerstone of who we are as a people.” Our language is one of God's blessings that our forefathers received thousands of years ago. Our parents have conserved Garifuna, and we cannot simply cast it off now as if it were worth nothing. God gave us talent though Garifuna; either we bury it or we make it multiply.”

GAMAE”s Arts and Culture Division and its Programs is designed to protect, preserve and promote the indigenous arts, traditions and heritage of the Garifuna people, while empowering our children, youth and young adults to pursue their creative dreams and gain valuable skills that can lead to fulfilling, rewarding careers and boost economic development in the Garifuna communities.”
